22 km Roman aqueduct linking the Bouillons de GORZE spring to the city of METZ, built in the 2nd century. Classified as a Historic Monument since 1840. The aqueduct rises from an altitude of 208m to 184m. It comprises 12.7 km of underground passage, an arcaded bridge visible at ARS-SUR-MOSELLE and JOUY-AUX-ARCHES, and a further 8 km of underground passage. Of the original 110 piers, only 17 remain connected by arches.
