This circuit starts in Saverne and follows the foothills of the massif on the Alsatian side before climbing the Valsberg Pass (650 m) from the village of Obersteigen. It then crosses over to the Moselle side of the massif, passes through the village of Dabo with its stunning view of the famous rock, and descends into the Zorn Valley. The route continues with the climb through the Rehthal before reaching the greenway of the Bièvre Valley near Sarrebourg. The return follows the EV5/V52 route via small local roads and then the superb greenway section of the Vallée des Éclusiers. The final stretch back to Saverne is an easy ride along the towpath beside the Marne–Rhine Canal.
