We find our future cantor in Weimar where not only his complicity with JG Walther, but also the free access he had to the very rich musical library of the ducal court, finally opened his eyes (and ears) to the riches of Italian music. And as in the case of the concertos for 3 and 4 violins, he was to transcribe new works, but paradoxically in the only genre that he would never perform within a body of work as immense as it was diverse: the organ concerto.
