Founded in 1938, today the Museum has three objectives. Firstly, transmitting the history and military history of the town through its considerable collection of uniforms, firearms and weaponry from the 1st Empire until the Second World War. Secondly, introducing, or re-introducing authors Erckmann-Chatrian by showcasing their past through objects, manuscripts or novels. And, finally, in the regional section of the museum, showcasing the life and traditions of residents of the region through traditional costumes and clothing and from daily life.
