The 1870 battlefields are found on the "back" of the plateau, which opens up to the west towards the Côtes de Meuse hills. Along the paths you will come across many monuments erected in memory of the soldiers and a variety of educational and fun activities.

These vast stretches of farmland have had a tragic history. It was here, on August 16, 1870, that the battle of Rezonville, Vionville and Mars-La-Tour took place, with more than 200,000 French and German soldiers fighting each other. Along the way, you'll come across a number of monuments erected in memory of the combatants, as well as informative and entertaining features to help you better understand how the fighting unfolded. The paths are marked out in a network, so you can put together a walk to suit you. Markings: yellow rectangle.
