THE EARTHENWARE OVEN

The only survivor of some thirty furnaces built between 1860 and 1862 on the left bank of the Saar, it is housed under an 11-metre high cone.

It is a precious witness to the industrial revolution, which gives an idea of the difficult working conditions of the time.

Facing the Winter Garden, it is the only example of its type still known in continental Europe.
