The ‘Moulins sans frontières’ cycle tour is a link between Germany and France based on a common theme: water and mills. The itinerary covers almost 47 kilometres, with no fewer than 14 mills to discover. Approximately a third of the trail is on the cycle path. Follow the pictogram of the mill wheel with the European symbol on the signposts along the route.
1. The route starts at the Moulin d'Eschviller, near Volmunster. The Moulin d'Eschviller site has devoted its entire discovery programme to the relationship between man and his environment. In a remarkable natural setting, discover an old grain mill, a sawmill and relive the work of the millers and sawyers. The visit is rounded off by an educational apiary that plunges you into the fascinating world of bees. There's also a botanical trail and a hotel-restaurant.
