A self-taught dancer who discovered dance through urban culture and was spotted by Maguy Marin—who offered her the opportunity to perform in her landmark production *May B*—Leïla Ka subsequently devoted herself to choreography. Presented in 2023 at the Perspectives Festival, her first works—*Pode Ser*, *Se faire la belle*, and *C’est toi qu’on adore*—marked the beginnings of her artistic vision: an exploration of the female body through the lens of movement. Following the international success of *Maldonne*—performed more than 160 times worldwide and presented at Le Carreau in 2025, a success that opened doors for her to perform at Beyoncé’s concerts and the César Awards ceremony—Leïla Ka is creating *Lullaby Shot* this season. Eight dancers take the stage with powerful physical energy. With arched backs, bent legs, and engaged hips, the bodies break free from constrained postures and codified movements. Carried by deep electronic music, the performers shed all restraint and feigned delicacy to unleash a raw, grounded, and overflowing presence. With this new production, the artist continues her intense and committed choreographic vision, in which dance becomes a space for emancipation, transformation, and reclaiming the body. Ages 14 and up.
