The Metz Municipal Wind Band invites you on a musical journey into the heart of the magic of Christmas! A musical event you won’t want to miss—let’s celebrate the magic of the holiday season together!
As the holiday season approaches, the Metz Municipal Wind Band invites you to two special performances of its traditional Christmas Concert. Conducted by Arnaud TUTIN, with Maryline Gilgemann as narrator, let yourself be swept away by an original program blending Renaissance music with a world of wonder.
A Program Blending History and Imagination
This year, the Metz Municipal Wind Band presents two works set in unique worlds.
William Byrd Suite – Gordon Jacob
A tribute to the English composer William Byrd, this suite, orchestrated by Gordon Jacob, draws inspiration from pieces in the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book, a precious collection of Renaissance keyboard music.
Thanks to a richly colored and elegant orchestration, this work brings to life all the finesse and dance-like quality of these ancient melodies.
Alexia and the Phantom Orchestra – David Maslanka
Next, let your imagination run wild with this poetic work that tells the story of Alexia, a little girl immersed in an extraordinary dream: an orchestra of living instruments comes to life—without any musicians!
Throughout this musical adventure, each instrument reveals its own voice and timbre. A wonderful invitation to discover the secrets of the orchestra and all the magic of music.
Reservations required.
