Once upon a time, there were three great musicians who loved playing together. All were internationally renowned soloists with busy concert schedules. Their musical chemistry was so strong and their friendship so deep that they always found time to perform together. For nearly twenty years, Philippe Cassard on piano, Anne Gastinel on cello, and David Grimal on violin have been coming together regularly to perform masterpieces for chamber music trios. They mark their return to the Grande Salle de l’Arsenal with one of the absolute highlights of this rare and fascinating ensemble format: Beethoven’s Trios. With these dazzling masterpieces, the German composer established himself as an equal to Mozart and Haydn upon his arrival in Vienna.
