By Juliette Steiner, actress, set designer, and director, and the Quai n°7 theater company In conjunction with the exhibition “Séraphine Louis: From Senlis and Without Rival,” the Quai n°7 theater company presents a theatrical walking tour.
Juliette Steiner and her entire team explore the legacy of female artists who are too little known, forgotten, or even stripped of their works. Drawing inspiration from the works on display in the exhibitions, the actresses take you on a journey that reads like a visual and theatrical poem—akin to a surrealist collage that playfully makes female artists appear and disappear in a joyful interplay of echoes and resonances.
Séraphine Louis, Marina Abramovic, and Britney Spears are invited to the same table; the Guerrilla Girls cross paths with Brigitte Fontaine or prehistoric women… But above all, they engage in a dialogue with the questions and doubts of the actresses, who in turn assert their own uniqueness.
Juliette Steiner blurs the lines between eras and figures to encourage us to become the next generation of a form of resistance through creation.
