Opéra - Die Lustige Witwe (La veuve joyeuse)

*Die Lustige Witwe* (*The Merry Widow*) is the most famous of the Viennese operettas.

The story takes place in Paris, in the salons of the Pontévedro Embassy, where a party is being held to celebrate the reigning prince’s birthday. Hanna Glawari, a wealthy widow, makes her appearance. To prevent her fortune from leaving Pontévédro, a plot is hatched to marry her off to a fellow countryman, Count Danilo. He is her childhood sweetheart, but he refuses to marry her for her money… An operetta that charms as much with its elegance as with its lightheartedness!
