We are familiar with mushrooms found in meadows and forests, some of which are cultivated. Among them are, among others, amanitas, agarics, boletes, etc. Alongside these large mushrooms visible to the naked eye, there are a great many less spectacular and often microscopic fungi that are of paramount importance economically, for public health, and ecologically—namely, yeasts and molds.
