Carnyx on Stage During this musical afternoon, Carnyx will draw from the breadth of its repertoire to share with you the depth of what has driven the group since its inception: socially conscious music! The society in which we live and the world presented to us give rise to concerns that are as legitimate as they are unbearable. We will strive to respond to these concerns through music, guided by our core values: SOLIDARITY AND RESISTANCE. Works by Brassens, Ferrat, and Aragon will be featured, as will the group “Diamant Noir,” with whom we’ll have the honor of sharing the stage that day. A brief journey to the Isle of Beauty will bring this beautiful artistic moment to a close with the same spirit of commitment, but this time in the Corsican language.
Diamant Noir From the lands of Lorraine to the shores of the South, a poetic and socially conscious journey. Born in the heart of eastern France, the band builds a vibrant bridge between French-language protest songs and the warmth of southern rhythms. Driven by the organic blend of a folk-tinged singer-guitarist, a violinist with spellbinding lyricism, and a bass-drum duo with a solid groove, they reinterpret a repertoire rich in poetic and socially conscious hues, in the true spirit of the “chanson.” From working-class tales to laments of exile, their music brings to life a humanistic and culturally diverse narrative where every word counts. A raw and heartwarming journey, oscillating between melancholy and the fervor of Latin melodies.
