Junko Nakamura is a Japanese artist and author who has lived in Paris since 1995. Initially focusing on printmaking and metal engraving, she then explored color through various techniques, making each image a space for experimentation. Still fascinated by the freedom of children's drawing, Junko has been running workshops for children since 2009. Her latest book is Chez Bergamote, published by MeMo.
Dedicated to the world of books, from conception to completion, this project naturally finds its place at the Médiathèque, which is joining the initiative by welcoming the artist. Through workshops, she will invite children to explore her work based on color, experimentation and creative freedom.
Each child will create a four-page leaflet featuring four animals, each associated with a specific color. As they create, the colors become clues to emotion and character: fiery red, dreamy blue, mischievous yellow or tranquil green... Older children can enrich their imaginary books by imagining and describing the personalities of their animals, creating colorful little portraits.
