The St Maximin church was designed by one of the great post-war architects, Georges-Henri Pingusson, in the school of Le Corbusier. Finished in 1962, it was the first circular church in France and is considered a masterpiece of modern sacred art. It was listed as being of historic interest in 1994, and listed as a historic monument in 2014.
