Église Notre Dame du Rosaire de Marienau Allée de la cité des chalets
Amis des orgues de Forbach
The church in the small village of Andahuaylillas, near Cuzco in Peru, is home to a treasure trove: the oldest organ in all America. A few years ago, the Chemins du Baroque association entrusted its restoration to organ builder Jean-François Dupont, who then built a replica that has long contributed to the reputation of the Couvent Saint-Ulrich in Sarrebourg. Today, this little instrument has found a new home in the Marienau church in Forbach. The acquisition of the instrument was made possible by the combined efforts of the Amis des Orgues de Forbach, in partnership with the parish of Marienau and the Amis du Couvent Saint-Ulrich.
On Sunday June 14, the organ will be blessed during a mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Monseigneur Ballot, Bishop of Metz. At 4 p.m., after a convivial meal in the Marienau foyer, for which everyone is welcome to register (price €20, booking by 06 69 33 24 96 before May 30), the exceptional inaugural concert will take place. This concert will bring together the vital forces of the Association Les Amis des Orgues de Forbach (Petit Choeur and Ensemble Vocalis), students and teachers from the Conservatoire de Forbach, professional instrumentalists and singers, and musicians from the Atelier baroque de Woippy, a product of the Rencontres Musicales de Saint-Ulrich and the Union de Woippy. All will gather around the organ and South American and Hispanic music of the Renaissance and early Baroque periods for a musical celebration that marks the start of a wonderful adventure... another one!
