In cooperation with the Sarreguemines Museums and the Sarreguemines Passions association, Mir redde Platt aims to highlight our theatrical and cinematographic heritage, while raising public awareness of the importance of preserving works of art.
It combines several complementary actions: a screening of the restored film, a scientific presentation on the history of the play and the film, and an exhibition at the Musée de la Faïence in Sarreguemines.
The screening :
The original play, written by Gustave Stoskopf in 1898, is a major milestone in Alsatian theater. Its film adaptation by Jacques Séverac in 1939, released in 1940, is a rare testimony to the Alsatian language brought to the screen. The presentation of the restored film now makes it possible to preserve and pass on this emblematic work, restoring its dramatic intensity and visual brilliance. Presentation by Nicolas Stoskopf (author's grandson)
