Built on the ancient Roman rampart, the church has no façade and the south arm of the transept was shortened by the opening of Rue Lasalle. The 1881 stained glass windows are the work of Laurent-Charles Maréchal, a master glassmaker and leader of the Ecole de Metz, whose work can be found throughout the city.
