Bernard Grandidier, a cereal farmer in Fey for many years, decided in 1995 to relaunch a vineyard close to his land on the Fey hillside. A fellow winemaker introduced him to the principles of winemaking, and he set up his own winery, investing in the equipment needed to press, transform, store and bottle his wines*.

Today, Domaine Sommy is an exemplary vineyard in Moselle: 3 hectares for 15,000 bottles a year, and a regular winner of gold medals in wine competitions.
