MICHELIN Guide France 2025 Ceremony | Destination Moselle

The MICHELIN Guide France 2025 Ceremony offers a unique opportunity to delve into the treasures of Moselle, an area where history, natural heritage and culinary delights come together.

On Sunday and Monday, almost 15 exceptional experiences are on offer, inviting you to discover the different facets of this region, combining cultural discoveries with tastings of exceptional local products, for a complete immersion in the heart of Moselle's terroir.

These experiences are reserved for journalists, influencers, and invited partners.

Sunday, March 30th program

The seven experiences on this Sunday take place in Metz or its surrounding areas.

They have been prepared in such a way as to guarantee a return at 5.30pm, allowing everyone to prepare calmly for the chefs' dinner that evening.

After lunch in the Village Gourmand on Place de la République, journalists are invited to the bus departure point alongside the Arsenal Jean-Marie Rausch on Avenue Ney in Metz.

SCHEDULES

  • Departure from the Gourmet Village at 2.15pm
  • Return to the drop-off point in Metz by 5.30pm

Each experience is limited to 25 people, and you can only participate in one per day due to the schedule.

The Jardins Fruitiers de Laquenexy grow over 400 varieties of apples, including marked apples, a speciality of the site produced using a Japanese technique. They are home to a collection of edible plants, ranging from aromatic herbs to ancient vegetables, offering a wonderful discovery of natural and local flavours and highlighting the region's biodiversity.

Step inside Robert Schuman's house, where the historic treaty creating the ECSC was drawn up on 9 May 1950, in the heart of a charming wine-growing village. Extend this journey through history with a gourmet tasting of the mirabelle plum, the symbol of Moselle.

The House of Robert Schuman in Scy-Chazelles is a symbolic place where European history comes to life. The former home of the ‘Father of Europe,’ it bears witness to his key role in laying the foundations for European unification. Visitors can discover his commitment to peace and cooperation between nations. A symbolic place where history, humanism and Europe meet.

Come aboard the Graoully for a unique discovery of Metz, between city and nature, as it sails along the Moselle. Explore the city that saw the birth of urban ecology thanks to Jean-Marie Pelt, before enjoying a honey tasting session.

Metz, a city of water, offers a unique experience aboard the Graoully, an electro-solar boat that lets you discover the city from another angle, from the water. This cruise reveals not only the city's architectural wonders, but also its natural wealth, with its peaceful green banks. This immersion in urban nature resonates with the urban ecology developed by Jean-Marie Pelt, who has dedicated his life to harmonising cities and their environment.

A journey to the heart of the city's illuminated history

Discover Metz through its play of light, from the stained glass windows of the cathedral to the modern lines of the Centre Pompidou-Metz and the richness of the historic centre. Extend the wonder with a tasting of sweet Moselle delicacies at the top of the spectacular Maison Heler.

Metz, the jewel of the Grand Est region, has an exceptional heritage and a unique light. Its majestic Saint-Étienne cathedral, nicknamed the ‘lantern of God’, is home to Europe's largest stained glass windows by Chagall. A city of art and culture, Metz also shines thanks to the Centre Pompidou-Metz, a major centre for modern and contemporary creation, which celebrates its 15th anniversary in 2025, offering a subtle blend of history and modernity.

With 620 metres of runs and perfect snow all year round, the site is ideal for beginners and experienced skiers alike. Supervised by qualified instructors, everyone can learn or perfect their technique in complete safety. All in all, it's a sporting getaway with a change of scenery, allowing you to savour the pleasures of the mountains without leaving the Moselle.

The tour will highlight Auguste Escoffier, the chef during the Siege of Metz in 1870, his contributions to modern cuisine, and the creation of his famous recipe for rabbit à la Gravelotte. A fascinating blend of history and gastronomy.

Explore the fascinating history of Fort Wagner in Verny, a witness to the 1870 battles, and immerse yourself in its rich military past. Enjoy a tasting of exceptional Moselle pastries, a delight for your taste buds.

Built by the Germans between 1904 and 1910 in Verny, the Fort showcases the technical advancements of the time. This impressive site features remarkable innovations in hygiene, such as fully tiled kitchens and the use of a giant pressure cooker, revolutionary for feeding an entire garrison. This special tour offers a chance to discover a unique military heritage, blending history and modernity.

Monday, March 31st program

The eight experiences on this Monday offer a broader immersion into the treasures of the Moselle region.

Over the course of a day, participants discover local know-how and meet producers who will be offering tastings of their exceptional products.

A lunch prepared by a local chef will round off the experience, with a guaranteed return at 2.30pm to allow everyone to get ready for the MICHELIN Guide France 2025 Ceremony.

All transfers are provided by shuttle buses. The bus will pick you up directly at your hotel from 8am.

The Marsal Salt Museum immerses visitors in the history of salt production in the Moselle, a key sector for the region for centuries. Visitors can also discover Salicorne vicensis, a species of samphire native to the region. The museum also explores the links between salt and the names of many towns and villages, testifying to the historical importance of this precious resource.

Come aboard the Princesse Marie-Astrid for a tasting of local wines and crémants, accompanied by the creations of Cyril Molard, chef at the Ma Langue Sourit restaurant, awarded two stars in the MICHELIN Guide.

To mark the 40th anniversary of these historic agreements, come and relive a key moment in history by following in the footsteps of the people who shaped the Europe we know today. The village is part of the Moselle region, Luxembourg's wine growing area. Excellent grape varieties such as Riesling, Pinot Gris and the distinctive Auxerrois grow and are passionately vinified on the sunny hillsides in the east of the country.
