GARDEN OF THE FAYENCE WORKERS

Situated in an old factory once operated by the Faïencerie de Sarreguemines, this unusual garden has several areas inspired by the faiënce, or delftware, and its colours. There is the Director’s Vegetable Garden, a pergola covered with Japanese wisteria, the Peony Garden, the observation platform and the Millstone Garden. Landscape designer Philippe Niez has made use of the differences between the old factory ruins and the carefully planned layout of the garden to create light and shade, textures and a walk through very different, unexpected ambiances.
