The lantern trail immerses young and old alike in a magical world inspired by fairy tales, where every sparkling lantern lights your way. Scenes from Rapunzel, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland and Little Red Riding Hood create an enchanting atmosphere, perfect for a stroll with family or friends.
In 2025, the trail will extend all the way to the castle at Place Morbach, making Sierck-les-Bains an unmissable destination for celebrating Christmas in a truly enchanting setting.
Saint Nicholas Parade and Christmas Market

The city of Yutz celebrates Saint Nicholas with a grand festive parade on the Esplanade. Colourful floats, lively music and glowing lanterns light up the streets, creating a joyful and vibrant atmosphere. Young and old alike can enjoy this local tradition, which pays tribute to the city’s history and festive customs in a warm and welcoming setting.
Esplanade de la Brasserie, Yutz
In December, the Saint Nicholas Market transforms the Esplanade of Yutz into a festive and welcoming place. Artisans, creators and local associations showcase the regional produce and Lorraine traditions, while visitors and families enjoy flammekueches, mulled wine or hot chocolate.
Between entertainment, children’s workshops and shows, the atmosphere is warm and magical — perfect for enjoying Christmas with family or friends.
Dive into a Magical Christmas in Thionville

The Thionville Christmas Market transforms the city centre into a true festive village. Across several squares, chalets, an ice rink, a children’s village and a gourmet market offer entertainment for the whole family, showcasing local artisans and producers.
Each evening, a light mapping show illuminates the city, while concerts and the Saint Nicholas parade add to the festive magic and friendly atmosphere.
Florange Christmas Market
Florange – from 6 December 2025
The forecourt of La Passerelle lights up and comes alive with world music for a festive and welcoming market. Twenty-five chalets decorated with lanterns and recycled instruments invite visitors to discover, create and enjoy family-friendly activities.
In 2024, the event attracted 17,500 visitors, confirming its popularity with families and Christmas enthusiasts.
Christmas Market at Parc de la Nied
Bouzonville – from 6 December 2025
At the Parc de la Nied, twenty large lanterns tell the legends of the valley along a magical trail. The Christmas Market, made up of 17 chalets, comes alive with performances by the Compagnie Belle et Arts, the music of Ça Gaze, and dazzling light and circus shows. The Saint Nicholas parade on 6 December marks the start of these magical weekends.
In 2024, the event welcomed around 5,000 visitors, offering families and lovers of local traditions a warm and enchanting Christmas experience.
But also... a Starry Weekend at Nilvange Castle
Nilvange – 13 & 14 December 2025
Nilvange celebrates light and voice with lanterns, chalets and artisans set up inside the castle. On the programme: the Noël Spectaculaire Show by Compagnie Prom’Enciel, Polynesian dances by Feti’a Polynesia, the Les Rêveries choir and the celestial fireworks by Clausses Artifices.
All activities are free of charge and take place across the castle, the Pierre Mellet Hall and the Albert Bassetto Gymnasium, with shows and friendly moments throughout the weekend.
