A masterpiece of the Hebrew Bible and world poetry, the Song of Songs celebrates love, desire, and beauty in language of rare intensity. For centuries, it has inspired manuscripts, calligraphy, art books, and contemporary works.

Bringing together original works by Michel Levy, Agata Preyzner, Michel D’Anastasio, Jean-Marie Gasteuil, and Eloïse Gasteuil, as well as the striking illustrations by Henri Matisse and the dance-like illustrations by Benn, the exhibition reveals the ever-renewed richness of this text, where heritage, creativity, and emotion intertwine.

Festive opening reception—Thursday, November 12, in the late afternoon.
Recital by soprano Agathe Zenier, accompanied on piano by Stella Souppaya. Theatrical reading of the Song of Songs by the Théâtre à dire theater company.
