This autumn, Amnéville Zoo lights up once again with the 4th edition of Luminescences. After taking visitors on a journey through magical worlds, then to the heart of Asia, this year's lantern festival moves to Latin America for a flamboyant experience under the banner of the Fiesta Latina.
This new edition, 100% original, features a 1.5 km route punctuated by over 10,000 light installations, some of them up to 8 metres high. A spectacular, one-of-a-kind immersion experience for families and friends alike.
One visit, two experiences! The Zoo ticket automatically includes access to Luminescences. And for those who prefer to concentrate on the enchantment of the lanterns, a dedicated ticket allows you to experience the event in the evening only.
From All Saints' Day through to spring, young and old alike are invited to stroll along a unique illuminated trail at nightfall, punctuated by the magic of lanterns and the festive energy of Latin American cultures. From Mexico and its colorful dances, to the lush jungles of the Amazon, the mysteries of pre-Columbian civilizations, the majestic Andes mountain range, the marine treasures of the Caribbean and the explosion of color of the Rio Carnival, each universe offers its own share of surprises and wonder.
Because enchantment goes hand in hand with responsibility, Luminescences has been designed with eco-responsibility in mind. The lanterns, made from low-consumption LEDs, are reused and refurbished from one edition to the next. The course is designed with the expertise of animal carers, veterinarians and ethologists to guarantee animal well-being: lighting adjustments, sound adaptations and the temporary relocation of certain species ensure that the magic of the lanterns always rhymes with respect for wildlife.
