Why are the windows of the Wiesberg housing estate not aligned, while those of Château Adt are? Why is Château Adt built of stone and the Wiesberg housing estate of concrete? Why are there gutters on Château Adt but not on the Wiesberg buildings?
An open-air exhibition of comparative architecture, with 21 questions from children and 21 answers from architect Jean Marie Helwig, open 24 hours a day, from September 19 to November 16, 2025.
At first glance, Château Adt and Cité du Wiesberg appear to be complete opposites, especially from an architectural point of view. However, pupils in Marie-Laure Leclère's CM2 class at Forbach's Louis-Houpert school took up the challenge of weaving links between them to highlight the specific features of these two emblematic sites in their town.
Each panel links two photographs by a concept expressed in the form of an infinitive verb. The 25 panels, displayed in the outdoor areas of the Château Adt, are freely accessible and can be discovered in any order, according to the curiosity of each visitor. The exhibition continues inside the Conservatoire de Musique et de Danse, where showcases display a selection of books relating to the château and the Wiesberg town, as well as authentic Adt objects in lacquered cardboard.
A German translation of all the exhibition texts is available (QR Code on the second panel of the exhibition): https://www.agglo-forbach.fr/UserFiles/File/de-l-architecture-traduction.pdf
