At the foot of the castle bearing the same name, the Waldeck Lake is classed as a Nature Reserve.

This lake is admired all year round ans can be reached by the forestry road leading from Hanau Lake.

Because of its fragile flora and fauna, you cannot go around all the lake. Part of the lake is protected and perserved.
