Le Fort Wagner

Built by the Germans between 1904 and 1910, the fort comprises 7 buildings spread over 47 hectares and linked by 1.5 km of underground passageways. The l'Aisne fortified group is located near the commune of Verny (57). It is a so-called Feste, a fortification built during the Annexation period. Highlights of the visit: a turret in perfect working order and blank firing demonstration with a 5.3 cm close-in defense cannon.

The Fort Wagner Association strives to prolong and maintain the duty of remembrance, thanks to its passionate volunteers who give guided tours all year round. The association is looking to the future with the reconstruction of a bread oven. A new feature: an Escape Game open all year round by reservation only.
