Towers, ramparts, underground passages… In Moselle, ancient stones sometimes have many stories to tell.
At Halloween, from Malbrouck Castle to the walls of the Thionville museum, some places take on a completely different atmosphere. It is time to discover what is lurking there.
Step into the story
Several Beasts & Witches events invite you to discover these places in a completely different light. Haunted castles, treasure hunts, night-time experiences or immersive adventures for the bravest visitors: each offers its own way to send a shiver down your spine.
Explore them at your own pace, keep your eyes open… some details may well surprise you.

At Malbrouck, the castle steps in front of the camera
Welcome to Malbrouck Horror Studio
For Beasts & Witches, Malbrouck Castle is transformed into a horror film studio. Pumpkins, spiders and eerie sets take over the fortress, while strange characters appear around every corner.
During the day, families can enjoy a life-sized Cluedo mystery game, origami workshops to create their own monsters, face painting and fantastical characters roaming through the castle.
On 23, 24, 30 and 31 October, from 5 pm, the atmosphere becomes more intense with an immersive theatrical trail. Visitors join the filming of a horror movie… until the line between cinema and reality begins to blur.

Inside the castle, the sets may have a few surprises in store for visitors.
Good to know: the evening immersive trail must be booked in advance and is not recommended for children under 8.
A change of scenery
In Thionville, choose your experience
Here, the level of fright depends on your age… and the time of day.
For younger visitors, The Forgotten Ancestor turns a visit to the museum into a treasure hunt. A character has vanished from the memory of the place: their identity has been erased, along with their story. Visitors are invited to look at the collections in a different way, spot the details that matter and gather enough clues to understand who this person was.
But on 30 October, the experience continues after dark. From 7 pm to 11 pm, the special Halloween evening is aimed at visitors aged 10 and over. The same world, the same walls… but a very different atmosphere once night falls over the museum.

The Strange Appearances of Soldier Hyppolite
After castles and ancient stone walls, head underground into the depths of Hackenberg. In this vast Maginot Line fortification, the underground galleries are said to be home to a rather unusual resident.
During Beasts & Witches, the guided tours take a mysterious turn. Over the course of 2 hours 30 minutes, visitors explore the heart of the fort and may even encounter the ghost of Soldier Hyppolite, who, according to the Halloween legend, has been wandering these corridors for more than 90 years.
Combining military history, underground galleries and an unexpected apparition, Hackenberg reveals another side of its past. A family experience where heritage meets the imagination of Halloween.

Night of Fire

Leave the family-friendly activities behind.
At the heart of the U4 Blast Furnace, Night of Fire offers a 90-minute collective immersive experience for visitors aged 16 and over. The industrial setting is much more than a backdrop: steel, darkness, monumental structures and remnants of the site all play a part in what awaits you.
Here, no one is promising you a simple Halloween-themed walk. You will be watched, put to the test, faced with choices and drawn into a story in which the “Towers” are searching for their chosen one.
For 90 minutes, you will move forward without knowing exactly what the experience has in store for you. Departures take place every ten minutes, from 6 pm to 11 pm, by reservation only.
Before you enter
You will not be chased or attacked.
But you will be watched, put to the test and faced with choices.
The real question is: how far are you prepared to go?
