This complex is located opposite the Musée départemental de la Guerre de 1870 et de l'Annexion and is part of the visitor circuit. The Gedenkalle is the most important memorial to the fighting around Metz in 1870. In front of the Halle du Souvenir, the Franco-German cemetery has been home to numerous funerary monuments since 1873.
