A pioneering work from 1982 that became part of the Paris National Opera Ballet’s repertoire, Jean-Claude Gallotta’s *Ulysse* is being revived by the young dancers of Groupe Grenade—a dance school founded in the northern neighborhoods of Marseille and now based in Aix-en-Provence. Under the guidance of Josette Baïz, children and teenagers from all backgrounds have been trained there with rigor and generosity for over thirty years.
By restaging *Ulysse* in 2025 with this brand-new generation, Jean-Claude Gallotta and Josette Baïz—who danced in the piece when it premiered—offer us a performance brimming with energy, featuring these young artists, many of whom will go on to become professionals. A deeply moving experience to share with the whole family.
