When the icons of Parisian nightlife—Corrine, Patachtouille, and Brenda Mour—flamboyant creatures clad in leather and perched on stiletto heels—reimagine Alain Bashung’s repertoire, the result is an excellent, whimsical, and poetic electro-rock cabaret. Accompanied by six outstanding musicians, the artists take us on a journey of self-discovery that swings us from laughter to tears, moving between the singer-poet’s popular hits and lesser-known tracks. feather boas, and beneath the palettes of eyeshadow—not to mention the rocker’s iconic leather jacket—suddenly, the poetry of Alain Bashung’s lyrics takes on a queer hue that was previously imperceptible.
