As a painter, Mirella Abenzoar centers her artistic practice around cultural transmission. Her resolutely figurative paintings explore the iconography of the French West Indies. Using an intense color palette—a direct legacy of her Creole roots—she documents the traditions and intangible heritage of Guadeloupe and Martinique. Her work is defined as socially engaged art, conceived as both an educational and emotional tool. Each canvas is a window onto our islands, designed to awaken buried memories and stir the hearts of the diaspora.

More than just an aesthetic, it is a commitment: the commitment to never forget where we come from.
