Every second Sunday in September, the small village of Wœlfling-lès-Sarreguemines in the Moselle region dons its festive attire to honor a tuber that has become a local emblem: the potato—a tradition deeply rooted in the Lorraine region.

As it does every year, the day kicks off with a fanfare at 10 a.m. and stretches into the evening, in the good-natured atmosphere typical of Moselle hospitality.

On the program:
- A crafts market and local products available all day long.
- Non-stop dining starting at noon, featuring potatoes prepared in every possible way: Grumbeerkichle (potato pancakes), topped tartes flambées, stews, homemade fries, baked potatoes...
- Continuous folk and musical entertainment.
- Demonstrations and booths featuring local producers.
- A community dance the evening before.

The Wœlfling Potato Festival promises a warm, gourmet, and decidedly village-style day. It’s a wonderful way to extend summer by celebrating a humble yet unifying food.
