A symbol of military power, the classical-style building was designed by Jacques-François Blondel between 1761 and 1771. Today, it is occupied by the Agence Inspire Metz - Office de Tourisme de Metz, and is in harmony with the Hôtel de Ville and the former Parlement. It has been listed as a historic monument since 1921.
