Picturesque Protestant temple built during the German annexation.

Practical information

Historic monument or place to visit in METZ, on the theme(s) Sacred art, awarded with the Label Listed historic monument (MH).
Built from 1901 to 1904 in gray sandstone and neo-Romanesque style, on the Jardin des Amours at the end of the Place de la Comédie, the Temple Neuf contrasts with the classical architecture of the Opéra-Théâtre. It was built for Protestant civilians. Illuminated at nightfall, it is magnified and reflected in the Moselle River, offering one of the city's most beautiful night views.
